Classes & Programs

We believe in providing an authentic experience for each child. Through thoughtful curricula, guided play, and interactive learning experiences, students explore their creativity and express themselves authentically!

BABY & TODDLER

  • Commonplay™ provides interactive moments for babies and toddlers with their caregivers to sing, play instruments, dance, and connect with their child. Children will develop confidence and music appreciation through playful exploration. In every class, you will experience live music that is dynamic and imaginative and will encourage everyone to move, sing, and create together. Grab a scarf and play with us!

  • Wiggle and dance with your little one in this music and movement class. Using interactive songs, dramatic play, and sensory props, you and your child will explore foundational concepts of dance and movement together. Children will develop body awareness, coordination, and balance. Caregivers and children will experience the joy of movement through play and song.

EARLY ELEMENTARY

  • Try-Tones™ is a community of early elementary students who will learn to celebrate confidence and build essential skills through singing, movement, and playing authentic musical instruments in an ensemble setting. Every student will have the opportunity to explore engaging musical concepts on the guitar, piano, and various percussion instruments. These concepts will be applied in class as students learn how to play a collection of captivating songs for a culminating performance at the end of the session.

  • Story Makers™ brings early elementary students together to experience a story through movement, song, and crafts. Each week, students explore a different children's book through the lens of fine arts. They will sing, play music, dance, and create a craft or prop that pairs with the weekly tale. By the end of the session, children will have learned different ways to tell a story, how to create a narrative through music, and how to express their imagination in different ways with the help of their Story Maker community. Come and help breathe life and creativity into beloved children’s literature and let your imagination run wild!

  • Take A Bow!™ introduces early elementary students to the exciting world of theater! Through storytelling, movement, games, and song, participants will learn how to express characters on stage and improvise with scene partners. Each week, the class will reimagine a favorite fairytale complete with costumes, props, and music. Students will learn how to use expression, body language, and voice to add their own unique creative energy to all types of magical characters. Before curtain call, we will sing and dance to familiar songs from movies and musicals. Join our inviting, creative, and safe environment where your little actor will be able to step into the spotlight!

LATE ELEMENTARY

  • Late elementary students in Try-Outs™ will dive into group music-making using authentic instruments! They will continue to refine music skills, techniques, and knowledge through the joy and excitement of group music-making. Together they will experience learning and playing music in an ensemble setting.

    Students will learn a collection of songs on different instrumental parts (guitar, piano, and percussion). At the end of the session students will play an assortment of songs together for an end-of-session performance. Join us and Try-Out for the band!

  • Let your child shine like the rockstar they’ve always dreamed of becoming! Tone Tours™ is a unique group lesson class for late elementary students, providing them with an exciting opportunity to delve deeply into the captivating world of music through hands-on learning of a single instrument. Students will embark on an inspiring musical adventure where they will learn beginner techniques on the ukulele, guitar, or keyboard. This isn't just about individual practice; it's about embracing the joy of playing music together in an ensemble setting.

  • Join us for a fully immersive musical theater experience! Throughout our session, campers will have opportunities to design and create elements of a complete production at every step. From script writing and choreography to costume and set design, our young musical theater stars will lead the way. This hands-on approach will build confidence and passion throughout the creative process. Each two-week session will be uniquely driven by the campers’ imagination, so every production will be a new experience! This summer, give your child’s imagination the space to grow, explore, and thrive.

MIDDLE SCHOOL & OLDER

  • Middle School students in ToneLab Songwriting™ will get to experience the thrill of making music with their own band! From choosing a band name to playing a set list in front of a live audience, each musician will be fully immersed in the process of creating, promoting, rehearsing, and performing in a band.

    With the guidance of Common Tone teachers, students will be given artistic control over their band’s musical genre, image, and sound which will encourage collaboration, communication, active listening, and problem solving. Bring old friends, make new ones, and tune up the band!

  • Students in this session of ToneLab will experience the thrill of making music together through songwriting! Students will learn the fundamental techniques of writing lyrics, melodies, harmonies, and musical accompaniment, combining all of these elements together to create songs of their own. With the guidance of Common Tone teachers, students will be given artistic control over their preferred musical genre, arrangement style, and sonic identity which will encourage collaboration, communication, and problem solving. At the end of the session, each student will have a song that fully represents their artistic vision and a chance to perform for a small audience. Join us for this session and find your voice through song!

  • Have you ever wanted to learn how to play your favorite song on the ukulele? If so, then this session of ToneLab is for you! With the guidance of our talented Common Tone teachers, adults will learn the fundamental techniques of the baritone ukulele from the ground up, so don’t worry - no prior experience is necessary! By exploring the basics of strumming, chord progressions, and music notation, you will build the necessary skills to play any song. And by using the provided baritone ukulele, every song you learn can be easily transferred to the guitar. Let’s make music together!

  • Have you ever wanted to learn how to play your favorite song on the piano? If so, then this session of ToneLab is for you! With the guidance of our talented Common Tone teachers, adults will learn the fundamental techniques from the ground up, so don’t worry - no prior experience is necessary! By building on fundamental foundations, you will learn the necessary skills to play any song. Let’s make music together!
